ROMANIA ROCKS: Romanian-British Literature Festival 2

  • Romanian Cultural Institute London 1 Belgrave Square London, England, SW1X 8PH United Kingdom (map)

The Festival, at its second edition, promises a week of interviews, special events & performances with the brightest & best literary minds from both countries.

The Festival is called “Romania Rocks” because “Romania definitely does rock & we want to show you how. It’s also home to a stunning phenomenon of living, growing rock formations called “trovants” – a powerful metaphor for our unique festival”, according to the RCI UK website.

“Rock Talks” is the name of the headline interview series of outstanding “rock star” authors. The best and brightest Romanian and British literary brains meet to discuss their work, their countries, and those issues close to their hearts.

*NBThis first ROCK TALK event, originally scheduled for Nov 2nd at the RCI, will now be recorded without an audience at BBC Broadcasting House and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 23 November at 10 pm and available as Arts & Ideas podcast.

*PHILIPPE SANDS and GEORGINA HARDING meet MIRCEA CĂRTĂRESCU

The writer and President of English PEN join the British author of In Another Europe to meet Romania’s renowned poet, novelist, and essayist. Hosted by Anne McElvoy (in partnership with BBC Radio 3).
